Asian Investment in Australian Vineyards on The Rise
Australian Vineyards, List Sotheby's

As Asia’s thirst for Australian wine continues to grow, wine lover-cum-investors are not just satisfied with wine tasting, more are looking to go to the source. Growing demand has given the rise of investment in Australian vineyards and wineries.

According to a 2017 study by Wine Intelligence, Australia’s exports to mainland China, Hong Kong and Taiwan accounted for over 80% of the country’s total wine exports to Asia, followed by Singapore, Malaysia and Japan.

With increasing demand comes with greater demand for the land where it is produced. The buying spree from Asian investors—from high-net-worth individuals to institutional investors and conglomerates—is mainly a result of Australian wine’s growing popularity in Asia, especially China. With Australia being a popular travel destination among rich Asians, visits to wineries and tastings have also become part of their itinerary. Winery owners are increasingly transforming their scenic wineries into inns, private label shops, restaurants, and event spaces for visitors from around the world.

With extensive local knowledge and robust understanding what investors look for in a vineyard or winery, List Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to present a private and exclusive selection of Australian wineries and vineyards across South Australia, Western Australia and Queensland.

Adelaide Hills, Australian Vineyards, List Sotheby's

South Australia is the heavyweight wine state, producing most of the country’s wine and boasting some of its oldest wines. The dry, hot climate ripens grapes fully, making bold, dense and concentrated wines.

These cool hills just east of the city provide the perfect ingredients for lemony Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

Established in 1890, this premium vineyard is one of the oldest wineries and cellar doors in the Adelaide Hills, and is recognized as one of the finest sites for growing fresh, crisp sparkling white wines in the area.  This vineyard is also an iconic function venue. Price upon request.
